Robert E. Deziel is the principal of Deziel & Company which is a commercial real estate developer in the Southeast.. He has practiced real estate law for over 20 years and co-owned and served as President and CEO of a $100 million manufacturing and trading business. His real estate law practice is focused on the areas of development, land use and zoning entitlements, construction, leasing, lending and real property transactions. His specialty is obtaining land use and zoning entitlements, including working with Building, Planning and Zoning Departments, Architectural and Landmark Review Boards and obtaining local and state governmental approvals, variances, special exceptions and permits.
For many years, Robert served as a Commissioner of the Town of Palm Beach Zoning Commission and the Town of Palm Beach Architectural Commission. In addition to participating in the drafting of many Code provisions for the Town of Palm Beach Zoning Code, he also co-authored the Town of Jupiter Island Zoning Code (1992) and FEMA Regulations and Building in the Town of Palm Beach(1996). Robert received a B.A. from Michigan State University and a J.D. from the University of Houston Law School.
Robert also has extensive experience working with the approval, permitting and construction aspects of historically sensitive sites and properties designated Historic Landmarks by the Town of Palm Beach Landmarks Preservation Commission and other communities. In 1998, he received the prestigious “Ballinger Award” from the Preservation Foundation of Palm Beach in recognition of his historic restoration efforts on his family’s residence. He is a former member of the Board of Directors of the West Palm Beach Zoo and a past Trustee of the United Way-Palm Beach Community Chest Alexis de Tocqueville Society. Robert has lived in Palm Beach, Florida for over 20 years and currently resides there in a Historic Landmark home with his family.
